
Xenia "Kay" Aksich, 88, of Beaconsfield, Quebec, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2011. She was a member of AMCA QC from the early days and served a term as the Executive Committee member.
Born in New York City, September 7, 1923 to Irene and Vsevolod Orloff. Kay studied opera and worked at the United Nations during WWII. As past president of the Montreal Women's Council, Kay sought to raise awareness of women's issues in Canada and internationally. Active member of the One O'Clock Club where a wonderfully intellectual group of women met to discuss and debate a myriad of topics. Always a gracious hostess, ever ready to champion those who needed her, and a loyal friend to many. Heartfelt thanks to the team at the Sunrise of Beaconsfield retirement home. Their warmth and professionalism never wavered.
Visitation will take place on Thursday September 29, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 4: 00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9: 00 p.m. at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home, 27 Avenue Salisbury, Pointe-Claire, H9S 3Z2.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2011 at St- Edmund of Canterbury Church, 105 Beaconsfield Ave., Beaconsfield, H9W 3Z8. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be sent to the Heart And Stroke Foundation of Canada.
